Creative Videographer/Video Editor

Company: Blue Mantle Media
Location: Hybrid (some in-person, some remote), Steubenville, Ohio
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly (W-2)
Schedule: 40 hours per week (some nights and weekends required based on production schedules; some travel may be required)
Compensation: $20–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience and portfolio

Position Overview

The Creative Videographer/Video Editor is a hands-on production role responsible for executing video projects from capture through delivery. The position supports active client work and assists with hands-on pre-production, production, post-production, and photography, to help scale capacity while maintaining quality and consistency.

This role works closely with the Creative Director and is intended to support both creative execution and day-to-day production coordination. While hours are tracked for payroll purposes, performance is evaluated based on outcomes, delivery, and quality of work rather than activity monitoring.

On-the-job training is provided for areas where experience may be limited, with the expectation that the team member is motivated to learn, improve, and grow in responsibility over time.

Core Responsibilities

Pre-Production

  • Assist in equipment inventory, battery management, pre-shoot equipment prep, vehicle load-up, etc.

Production

  • Assist with production setup and teardown (cameras, lights, props, sets, equipment)

  • Operate cameras during on-location and in-studio shoots

  • Capture clean audio

  • Support efficient, organized production days

  • Follow shot lists and creative direction during shoots

Post-Production

  • Maintain organized project files, folder structures, and backups

  • Edit videos using Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Assemble edits according to creative briefs, timelines, and brand standards

  • Implement revisions accurately and efficiently

  • Prepare and export final deliverables for client delivery

  • Create graphics, thumbnails, and visual assets using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects and related tools

  • Follow established workflows and contribute to process improvements

Photography

  • Capture still photography for client projects, marketing use, or behind-the-scenes content

  • Edit and deliver photos as needed using Photoshop or Lightroom

  • Maintain organized photo archives alongside video assets

What Success Looks Like

  • Projects are delivered on time and meet quality expectations

  • Shoots are prepared and run efficiently

  • Files and assets are consistently organized

  • Production workload is handled reliably and predictably

Requirements

  • Experience in videography and video editing (I don’t care about the number of years; I’m much more interested in your portfolio)

  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Working knowledge of camera operation, audio capture, and lighting

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Motion graphics experience with Adobe After Effects

  • Color correction or grading experience using Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve

  • Experience working in small teams or production environments

Schedule & Work Expectations

  • Standard workload is 40 hours per week

  • Schedule may vary based on shoot days and production needs

  • Some evening or weekend work may be required

  • Some travel may be required

  • Some overtime may be included
